GARIFUNA LIVES MATTER
The Garifuna Market has been made aware of some earlier events surrounding the violent and criminal injustices happening to our Garifuna community.
We are alarmed by the news of recent events and the ongoing battle over native land rights in countries such as Honduras and these have been the same injustices happening for many years; some cases like the recent kidnappings of Garifuna leaders Snider Centeno, Milton Martínez, Suany Álvarez, and Mamba in Garifuna town, Triunfo de la Cruz.
We stand in support of our #Garifuna community always, especially during these treacherous times. To all Garifuna advocates and activists who stand for social justice, let us remain in hope for their safe returns home.
We must continue the fight to end this longtime discrimination and destruction of our people.
